age can be hard to pin down as faeries . numbers can become somewhat meaningless , or at least carry different meaning , once age reach hundreds or thousands . sometimes that change in meaning is not even good one - someone who live for so long run risk of detachment and lack of care , which is not necessarily admirable .

bodies and appearances can be fluid - one day child and another adult . some feel as if grow up and progress through linear childhood . some feel that always have body of adult , but mind and heart change with time . others still never settle into one age bracket , or conversely always stay children .

human instinct often label faeries as child-like . joy and wonder is child-like , trickster tendencies all child-like , emotional tendencies all child-like . some even go so far as to say that faeries can not understand that human torture is cruel , because minds simply that child-like , only able to focus on personal enjoyment . 

kossai have answers within court for how to determine age bracket , where to draw lines in certain spaces and activities . kid here is still kid , but not in same ways that humans tend to define . if this was just based on number , then that would rule in some of these kids , maybe even rule out some of adults - faerie children can be children for 10 , 50 , 100 years , or even only 1 . 

some kids here enjoy kiddie activities and media . some find this stuff utterly boring instead , even if supposed body-age would fall into target audience . mind is still sharper , wiser , than any human of that age could be . but there is still childish aspect to this wisdom , something that is hard to explain , that often set difference .  

some adults actually lean on kiddie activities and media more than kids do . sometimes this is for collective nostalgia . sometimes there is purpose , like preschool media in another language to grasp basic but still natural usage . sometimes this is simplest kind of sensory input that help brain to recalibrate after stressful incident . sometimes just like , like any other hobby . 

feel sort of silly and not exactly right to call age simple " feeling inside of heart " , but what else is there to call this ? even mental age is human concept based on human ideals , and human ableism . age is something internal that might be fluid personally , but also no one else can actually impose change . if adulthood feel wrong then adulthood simply feel wrong , and vice versa , even if this was correct yesterday . 

that feeling is basis kossai use to determine how certain spaces work , and yet just know non-fae worry would be something akin to , " but what if someone lie to gain wrongful access ? " - when that lie would be so contradictory to inner being , legitimately would not be able to manage . 

just another way age in plurality can be weird .
