just get sad think about how with spirituality in online western spaces , things that get most attention is often :

• some kind of appropriation
• vague platitudes that encourage to not think about things , but just feel , just believe , just give over mind and money
• toxic positivity
• genuinely just cult tactics
• decent theory and information that stretch to most illogical extreme

… and then there is unfortunate trickle where people who look on from outside of this see all sorts of spirituality as fake - as scams , as elaborate delusions and hallucinations , as something that just must butt in and explain any other way . that because someone over there sell " authentic 432hz rose quartz water for perfect yoni chakra balance energy to cure cancer forever 💖 " for $7.77 per spoonful , that means anyone with inclination to crystals is just as much worth hate .

like really . really think about ,

• do this person give unnecessary spiritual advice ? or only add in spirituality when relevant ?
• do this person give random medical advice and " substitutes " ?
• do this person sell things ? if so , is there any unnecessary push , that these products absolutely must have to be real and right ? sell is not inherent bad thing , but lie about products and practises is .
• do this person deliberately encourage to see as community leader , or as perfect teacher ? or as just fellow community member ?
• do community interactions with this person hit on cult tactics ?
• in anything this person say and offer , what is too good to be true ? what is catch 22 ? is this person honest about these things , or hide and deflect ?

like sometimes … not actually do any harm , just weird to onlookers . weird is not crime . look at and warn people about actual signs of scams and cult tactics , not just weirdness factor .

there really is plenty to talk about when come to problems , but some people much more interest in dunk on whole lot and call that good .
crystals for example ... sure , can be " weird " thing and all . and , some people can take to worst conclusions as total substitute for medication . not good at all .
but would laugh at someone with crystal as lucky charm actually stop and erase these scammers ?

some people further justify in say that crystal industry is horrendous violation on all counts ... and think anyone who know would agree .
that is why people who know and truly care , make point to avoid buy any new crystals , avoid support those businesses . why will find in other ways - secondhand buys and swaps with others , even personally go out on little local searches and digs . some might even have crystal objects that pass through family over years ... so can not necessarily assume that all people with crystals actually contribute to this market .

these markets - can not fix these by just laugh at people who ( seem to ) buy in , need to target systems that make markets and exploitation possible .
but guess that is not as fun as laugh .
