plural internal cultures

this is something that love , but also hard talk about , and understand why .
kossai is white , and belong to earthly culture that in self people understand as mostly white .
but also have home realm that is not part of earth , with unique language , rituals , and ways which do things - in other words , internal culture .
this is why faerie is such important word that use to describe everything , from small differences to things that actually disable kossai in society .

but there is good reason to tread carefully in talk about these things . as far as most other people will see , this is something that is " not real " .

• if no one else in world can speak this language , can not really call injustice that people ask to use another language - certainly not in way that injustice to beat schoolchildren out of family language .
• if show experiences and stories through particular kinds of tattoos on body , but not belong to earthly cultures that tattoo in similar ways , people have reason to be on alert that simply appropriate aesthetics and ideas .
• if no one else recognise something as holiday , because this come from place which can not research or reach regardless of try , there is not cultural injustice in people refuse to see significance and still schedule for work¹ .
• and so on - hopefully understand point by this .

and : people of colour , singlet or plural , have right to be wary of strangers that talk about " not real " cultures , right to wonder if this is something which make up just to have excuse for appropriation .
as much as these cultures internally real , one thing is true : these do not necessarily have external impact .
and on one hand , know hard to hear people say things like not real , especially if come from genuine disrespect and hate . but , also not inherently disrespect - this come from very real concerns and experiences .

can argue if " not real " is really right and respectful choice of words , and should fight to make plural friendly world without immediate dismiss experiences - but also need understand where this come from , first .
to especially singlets of colour , what these things can look like is another white person who get away with tastefully aesthetic cultural elements , while friends and family still get hurt for non tasteful expressions .

internal cultures can be very deep and real , but so is that pain . be kind and try to listen , and help make better world together .
