binary of binary-nonbinary
Mar. 18th, 2026 11:31 amweird title ? maybe !
just mull over frustrations again about how people treat binary and nonbinary as literally another binary that all identities must fit into . someone who is multigender , maybe agender , or really just about anything , must accept that gender is " inherently nonbinary " , even if choose not to self-label that way - have to opt out , and even then , will not take seriously when opt out .
personally , use bigender as modality which describe how experience both manhood and womanhood . nonbinary is not descriptor that feel comfortable with , especially given how many people use nonbinary as outright erasure of identity and preferences , even those who claim to know better . genuinely come across people who treat kossai as if legitimately do something anti-nonbinary to not accept identity as actually nonbinary . fine to misgender others so long as do progressively , right ? ( imagine sarcastic eyeroll here . )
one thing to say that many experiences of gender ( and labels that correspond ) do not fit into modern binary standards just about anywhere in world . can not deny colonial influences and pressures in many of these cases , both modern and historical , but even this frame of binary-nonbinary tend to take pretty specifically from english-speaker influences - and often even more specifically , white US ones .
so when people say any identity is inherently binary or nonbinary , like these things exist as material qualities , that just grind gears . this can be genuine analysis as to how society treat identities , but can not just say these traits inherently apply to anyone , or that anyone who reject classification in this binary do something wrong .
not binary or nonbinary , and quite happy with that actually . need to tell people to eat rocks one of these days .
