silly but perhaps helpful thought
May. 5th, 2026 11:24 pmcurrently have this 400 page fantasy book checked out from library - summary intrigue , and also guy on cover is kind of hot . simple men of simple pleasures here . problem is , really busy with rearrange room , tie up loose project ends , all that sort - and when not busy with those things , then understandably busy with downtime and rest . novel like this is , for kossai , not really downtime activity - need to focus , as take notes and write commentaries to reference later , because will otherwise spaghettify and forget things .
so this book sit mostly unread right now . not that do not want to , just not really line up right now . due date is in about 1 week - would like to set aside little bit of time soon and just see how much more can read . maybe renew if think able to get any further than that , or just return and make chitchat with librarians about recent mountain of work - can always check out again in future .
but still want to read something and have that accomplishment . then brilliant idea strike : could browse kids section and look for some nonfiction there ! honestly could even use website right now to see exactly what kids section have on offer at this branch , be prepared with choice early ... but probably more fun to do that in person .
pretty happy with this idea - these kind of books can be pretty short , and there is no narrative to follow with characters and world . can read little bit here and there , but still successfully follow along , unlike with novels . suppose picture books would serve similar purpose , if any of those catch interest . just something that can get satisfaction of finish , even while so busy and frazzled . bonus : cool facts about dinosaurs ?!
