assortment of toy thoughts

think some toys seem just so so cute , but then what happen when done ?

cookeez series , anything mixie brand , that sort of toy - so much plastic and electronic components that many probably will not use again . point of these toys seem to be mostly that first , interactive unbox experience - unlike other toys , everything else after this is just " bonus " .

like , not have problem if box of fashion doll fold out into character bedroom . think that give some real purpose - incentive to treat carefully , to keep as part of toy . but main draw of that experience is still doll .
with these toys , really all about ... how to make that first unbox cool , and then , meh , whatever . no need to make toy that compel and attract in own right as long as put inside cool gimmick .

maybe just cynical because remember days of walk into store and know exactly which doll or which funny little creature would come home , and even gimmicks would focus on toy - doll that can mirror dance movements , cat that could talk - rather than box .

also toys that lock content behind apps : hate ! absolute hate !
something like got2glow fairy finder immediately come to mind . cute little thing for sure , but : character artwork and descriptions all lock behind app . what will happen to all this when app inevitably disappear ?
would prefer to see printout booklet - and imagine how cute that would be , maybe even on theme ! little book of " fairytales " which detail each character ...

separate comment in answer to post about mystery box gimmicks :

also as adult , this really just make experience of browse so much worse .

relatives of picky children , or children with specific needs , do not get to know what will come out of that box . might immediately throw , chew , destroy ... things which could possibly prevent if would just know before buy .

adults who do not collect toys but want to see new and cute designs do not get to properly see , to appreciate this new generation of toys .

and kid or adult , these false rarities and inherent mystery means likely to waste good money if in search of something specific . parents can always say no to kids , sure , but adult buyers generally have financial control to potentially spiral ...

just lose lose for literally everyone .
