This is the FAQ page about crossposting. It does look like Dreamwidth only crossposts automatically to other sites. However, if you had another site configured to crosspost automatically to Dreamwidth, you could point that to a different place than your personal blog, like a community that you run.
Crossposting on Dreamwidth is usually done manually. You make a post. Then you open a new post window, direct it to a different blog or community, and copy-paste the title and content. You may need to use different tags. Frex, I always crosspost my Birdfeeding posts to my personal blog and to birdfeeding if you want some to compare.
