gisan just start chapter 3 - indeed , get chance to test theory on how recluse could die , and that was trick after all ! sorry recluse , will come back to life next round . :3

so ! this daughter become imbued pumpkin pixie's parasol . that was another daughter from demo almanac ! really want to try and complete whole almanac eventually , but want especially to re-find demo girls . and hey ... tapima , demo pixie's parasol , was actually orange ! specifically just orange , not pumpkin , but still ! er ... will just have to hope that gisan meet better end than tapima : tapima fall down into deep hole , and could not muster up strength to climb out . with no one to help , would be stuck there ... forever , possibly .

since liya ( hairy mycena ) start to record how various choices , successes , and failures change stats - do not want to meta-game too hard , and not even sure of stat requirements for any mushroom types anyway , but helpful to know !

did play faerie gamble very safe though , almost kind of sad - could have gamble off daughter ! could see if there is more super cool faerie daughters to find ! but not up for experiment , and actually glad for that this time . pixie's parasol is so adorable :D

on recovery of glamour & whimsy

late crosspost - answer to post on tumblr about how older faerie folk adopt words and concepts from 1995 TTRPG changeling the dreaming , and really feel sting of banality and loss of glamour these days , quote : "[...] anyway, im still a wilder but i feel like i got burntout wayyy too young, and im getting older. banality got me young, it still has me now. horrible horrible"

ha , by CTD rules kossai is grump . normally would object to 25+ as somehow old , but in terms of CTD universe , changelings tend to burn out of glamour by mid-life ... so , sort of make sense - not death of whole body , but death of faerie side .

kossai have no plans to let that happen , that is for sure ! but human performances and banalities of life among humans do utterly tire out . not always able to control for these , but can look to strategies - big and small - to try and reintroduce some of those dreams and glamour .

( side note : kossai do not really subscribe to CTD dream theory for general faerie existence and glamour , but still think very useful to indulge , as faeriehood do not exist in strict boxes , and faerie experiences can be anything . good to know how to put aside need for true answers , definite consistent logic in experiences , and so on . )

little things can include just simple shifts in mindset . why should only some sounds get to be songs ? should beginner violinist really have to endure shame of label as senseless noise , while peers get to be hopeful musicians ? why do birds sing and deserve audience for song , but coffee machine do not ? both can be just as much part of morning routine - and both work hard , even if bird and coffee machine would not understand each other .

this can also include aesthetic choices , to make utterly banal objects more fanciful or funny . mileage will vary on this one , not always able to control ( while still maintain function , anyway ) but say for example , scissors . scissors can come with all sorts of patterns on handles - and embroidery scissors can have beautiful casts , like animals or flowers . some staplers out there come in funny little animal shapes , cover with rhinestones , and honestly , can never go wrong with googly eyes .

bigger changes ... kossai do not know depths of situation , so that can be harder to answer for . but as always say , even little changes can add up and go pretty far . kossai approach objects from animistic view , absolutely , but think anyone could benefit from slow down and appreciate these objects , and to shift mind from noises and annoyances to songs , dances , and hard work . whether or not feel spirit to be within object , still true that objects need care and maintenance , that these mechanisms take physical effort to work , and that there is long history of people - dreamers , in CTD sense - who lead up to these objects , even if that history is lost .

oblivion ~ wabbajack-only play test

crosspost from tumblr @ thaliendir . silly challenge run that want to incorporate into character stories . will be easier to find these notes if also post here and not just tumblr - this is not something which want to do immediately , as mainly focus on mushroom musume right now . :3

... usually when play games with stories , even if make up silly challenge run , think nice to have some way to fit into greater story kossai tell .

something which really want to try is wabbajack-only oblivion main quest . this is genuinely , actually doable - can not impact NPCs in any way , but can use wabbajack to change hostility of , for example , NPC's minions . this is how mankar camoran is possible wabbajack-only - whack those minions to turn against camoran .

... so hey . what if one of sheogorath's later lessons to ellona was this very challenge ? endure what sheogorath endure , with nothing but wabbajack . after all , that is how original mind of madness quest work , with no equipment but wabbajack .

ohoho . that is something to try out . maybe that would be breakthrough that piece things together and put ellona on path to awaken , too .

just give this little bit of play test in kvatch oblivion gate .

to recap : unlike skyrim , oblivion wabbajack can only affect non-character creatures , and only effect is transformation . targets can become passive animals , or other hostile creatures . dremora churls , for example , immune to wabbajack - but can lure in stunted scamp , wabbajack that , and hope become something that can hit dremora hard .

other use cases include : fast enemies can become something slower and easier to outrun , ghosts can become corporeal , enemies will temporarily lose access to magic debuff abilities , minions can turn against summoner , and so on .

actual impression so far ? oh yeah , this is fun . definitely some thoughts though :

• in mind of madness quest from skyrim , wabbajack did not need recharges . official story decision , neither do this wabbajack . can not actually accomplish this in oblivion , so instead will just cheat in varla stones when necessary . much more fun than alternative of have to bail every 5 minutes to recharge for extortionate prices .
• of course , can obtain other items , just can not use as equipment . armour is also , for now , off limits - only shivering isles green regalia .
• will allow use of non-offensive magic . might comb through uesp to come up with fun spell list , and also remove any direct damage spells that come by default . probably no custom spells , can not guarantee access to spell makers .

 

dream journal ~ curious mushroom

maybe play too much mushroom musume , because become part of dreams . most of these parts vague , to be fair ! just see interfaces and artwork , but then dream move on .

not this time ! this time dream of mushroom daughters play board game - 4 daughters there , at least one violet coral and one ink cap , others more dream-vague . but one daughter start to wonder how to make babies , because also want child . so decide to leave board game and go off to some human party with hope to find out - if not by experience , then at least maybe someone would explain .

unfortunately not sure if this daughter ever find out , because wake up ! but hey ... mushroom musume sequel idea ? ( joke ! )

mushroom musume ~ gisan & bitu

first up , story of gisan ! gisan is imbued pumpkin pixie's parasol , so hard to actually pick favourite designs in this game ... and mushroom folk here have biases - current front actually happen to be destroying angel ! but pixie's parasol is at least up there for cute factor .

anyway - gisan run into same flower-beast event that tapima ( orange pixie's parasol , from demo ) did ... but was in good enough shape to outrun and not fall ! gisan also come across arena , and make yearly goal to participate in tournament . not only did gisan participate , but later become champion and become beacon of hope for fellow mushroom folk :) so adorable !

bitu was much less adorable . time and time again , recluse do quite visceral things , and bitu learn this well - deathly grey earth star . unfortunately , chances to kill continually slip through fingers , so only get one against doomed lady - and while intend to kill lost daughter as witch expect , dessiccation catch up and crumble body to dust before that could come to pass ...

probably favourite stories so far would be firiti ( kindergarten graduate ) and masi ( lesbianism with caelia ) . just so cute and sweet !
