book thoughts ~ dance with the fae by elisabeth j. hobbes

this book was fun . first disclaimers :

• main character is english survivor of world war 1 , this war is recurrent subject
• cousin marriage and romance is recurrent theme here
• several equations of moral goodness to unscarred faces , and vice versa , both as character's self-hatred and legitimate message

in short : kit arton-price face major survivor's guilt after war - and , relevantly , internalised biphobia . while now at home after war , kit is engaged to cousin and childhood friend adelaide , but neither seem entirely certain in happiness of marriage - more than anything this is just for convenience of estate . during engagement party , two handsome strangers roll in - known first as silas wilde and alexandra dove - and after some time , adelaide will no longer awaken .

no such thing as perfect book of course , but was genuinely giddy over this one . still room to dig , and wish there was some more sensitive thought behind certain elements , but at least never find quite as egregious as a court of thorns and roses or the witch king .
