since childhood , thaliendir learn to understand , read , and write in both bosmeri and imperial languages - though still prone to some mistakes in imperial language . due to proximity of border , thaliendir semi-regularly hear both , but community predominantly use bosmeri .
this in mind , thaliendir is not able to speak at all . would learn bosmeri and imperial sign languages on top of oral languages , and also develop strong skill in illusion magic . with this illusion magic , thaliendir is able to conjure up lights and shapes to form communicative pictures and diagrams .

when kossai draw thaliendir , this is why speech bubbles go to hands , rather than to mouth . there is no singular sign language which kossai use as basis for thaliendir's signs - intentionally mishmash and make some things up , as not intend to depict any sign languages of this world . ( kossai sign in real life . )

upon mantle , thaliendir would gradually gain ability to " look past " language , and to understand anyone regardless - sort of important to understand everyone as godly figure . especially true with domain of psyche , as sheogorath have innate ability to look in and grasp .

at this point as well , sheogorath can communicate telepathically - able to cut middleman of illusion magic , and send those internal thoughts directly to others . these direct transferences can overwhelm recipients at times - sheogorath's thoughts can be multi-sensory , fast , and hard to follow .

between sign languages , will prefer bosmeri sign , and tend to use this when think out loud or in communications with haskill .
