culture clash and culture crisis at times , for sure , and really struggle to grasp political situations . choice is not strong suit of ellona - would love world of no persecution at all , but neither choice ( as canonical skyrim present ) is particularly good for that .
as well , ellona is nonverbal . so thu'um is sort of ... sneeze-like , in that unable to hold back very well , or to use purely at will . can track what trigger , and make attempts to thusly avoid or replicate , but still make no guarantee .
there is lots of pressure from those who know and believe ellona to be true dragonborn , and pushback from those who doubt abilities and claims . even lydia - who would later become fierce defender of ellona , and then wife - was originally very doubtful , certain that this hero of destiny would turn out to be fraud ... or worse , doom world through some kind of careless death .
post-alduin , ellona would also encounter sheogorath ( specifically kossai lore sheogorath , known in mortal life as nonverbal bosmeri man thaliendir ) and that would ... well ... sheogorath was not too happy with how certain things play out due to ellona , and especially ellona's self-restriction . cue time loop fever dream mind playground , in effort to make ellona experiment , learn , and take mad lessons into real world .
truthfully still in progress to figure out where this will lead , but aim for ellona to have some kind of true happy end with lydia eventually . just ... well ... will take some work . ( and for kossai to really dig deep on skyrim analyses , rewrites , and such , to try and make sense of things . >_>;;; )

"honestly start to think about who would have children , and ... that is hard question . "ellona and lydia , this is where things get especially murky . think would probably love to , but this would be question of whether ellona's health could support - if not , then that strain lydia to care for both , and that could really hurt relationship . if did choose to adopt , might seek out older child to at least avoid infant years . otherwise , if by some horrible circumstance either one end up pregnant , would have to terminate .

What civil war faction was she part of, and why did she choose them specifically?"comatose , baby ! lydia is aware of ellona's history of poor constitution for which family abandon long ago , and this is part of reason why forgo typical nord partnership to instead legally marry - actually have connection on record , in case of tragedy . and well … tragedy is right . after so much fight and stress , lydia can not help but to wonder if this is just ... body finally give up . so soon after finally settle into happiness , too - could fate really be this cruel ?
well , maybe so , but lydia refuse to stand for that . lydia dutifully caretake and search alike , even if often have to hire others to do bulk of physical search . books from every land , ingredients that dwindle , things that would be so hard to come by . even start to consider ways to track down ellona's birth family , in sheer desperate hope would know how to help , would even care to help . ( would not - but this would turn out to be unnecessary , fortunately . )
officially , ellona side with imperials . never really understand political situations - know that want world free of persecution , but feel like neither option really give that . lessons of sheogorath aim to give ellona more freedom of thought and madness , so to use dragonborn position for something actually impactful . more like martin , eh ?

ellona communicate similarly to thaliendir , with same illusion magic caveat . even so , magic might not play very much role for ellona's hypnosis . would be fairly straightforward , almost textbook style inductions , honestly , as that would be how ellona really learn about first . would have fun to just ask random questions and see where subject's mind float along , maybe some silly suggestions . there is , however , non-zero chance ellona would also hypnotise self and be unable to continue .as hypnotic subject - original post from tumblr
very easy to overwhelm - if ask subject ellona to count to 3 , will fail and start to cry . brain already struggle to sort and process input of all kinds , so trance slow down even further . on bright side , also fairly easy to satisfy : just give some comfy blankets , nice window view or magic light show , and occasional gentle praises , and will be set for literally hours .back to ellona masterpost
