do not interact !
- liars
- snobs who can not appreciate good wordplay
- jerks who turn down gifts
- unstylish weirdos who hang iron horseshoes as decor
and do not even think about boil eggshells around children , that is just gross behaviour :/
to break down this joke point by point ...
liars : many faeries toy with words , but not all appreciate when humans reciprocate - especially in form of direct lies . stories vary in whether or not faeries can lie , but from experience of kossai , even faeries who have ability to lie might still prefer not to , unless life and safety is under threat .
wordplay : see above , faeries toy with words . this is especially true in terms of deals , bargains , and trades - faeries often deliver to letter of word , rather than spirit , with sometimes horrible outcomes . snob in this case is someone who make deal with faeries , and now unhappy with outcome due to deliberate faerie wordplay and misinterpretation .
turn down gifts : faeries gift for various reasons . sometimes as sign of actual appreciation and care , sometimes as attempt to lure and bait into something . to deny gift is to either deny appreciation and feelings , or to sidestep danger and not even make things fun .
iron horseshoe decor : iron is weakness of faeries - not all faeries necessarily , but definitely well known one . horseshoes in particular could be put on doors or within rooms to ward off faerie presence . ( iron horseshoes : historical DNI . )
boil eggshells in front of children : one changeling detection method which stories might depict - mother should crack open eggs , empty contents , and then boil eggshells over fire . any faerie would laugh at notion of eat empty eggshells for dinner , and thus reveal self to be changeling .
basically , this is joke of faerie who attempt to root out humans that will cause ruckus in relation to faerie activity . :P
