kossai: masculine form of kossai, cute wink (Default)
[personal profile] kossai
how faeries handle gender is , like humans , different between societies - and stories that tell of those societies , as humans sometimes write personal interpretations above all . regardless , some faeries regard gender as meaningless joke , and label nothing . some have unique gender systems that do not make sense to outsiders . some like to play and mimic what humans present , but more free , more ambiguous , or just somehow " wrong " . still some might truly mirror now-archaic human presentations down to letter .

different courtiers within kossai have different personal approaches , but collective identity fall into that third category - take what humans try to instill , and just have fun really . of course , in modern day plenty of humans question systems and break unspoken rules as well , though some like to bicker with each other about which way is right or wrong - still apply rules , just change subject .

collectively , on simplest surface anyway , gender is man and sexuality is gay - exclusive attraction to men , but even definition of man cast much wider net than generally expected . sometimes like to describe as " exclusive attraction to men and masculinities " - though there is still exception in , say , lesbian forms of masculinity . all of this is nebulous by nature , and same words that help to communicate can also sometimes make less clear , so do try not to get stuck down in details if just casually mention .

but like many others will say , sexuality , gender , and presentation can all have ties with each other . collective presentation do take from " gay man cues " - aspects of femininity and womanhood seen as perverted when in hands of men , and as well aspects of ambiguity . have both manhood and womanhood strongly , but womanhood tie to manhood in that way . do not feel that identity and attraction is ever that of straight woman , still always gay man .

there was time and place , largely 1700s to 1800s across britain , which regard certain people as mollies - historically understand most of these people as gay men , but of course , with modern frameworks and terminologies some would have different labels . straight trans women , crossdressers , bigender and genderfluid men who love men , people who do not really know where to fit but appreciate opportunity to break out of norms regardless .

so that is favourite word , really - molly . man who is gay and effeminate , in variable degrees of what any of these things mean to that individual . but this is also not really so well known anymore , hence use of bigender , as well as various metaphors to try and explain what is by nature hard to explain . womanhood is not weaker or smaller part , but also not kind of womanhood that people come to expect due to root in gay manhood - all of which , personally , also take on faerie forms and influences . faerie molly .
