faerie complaint about elder scrolls lore :
( disclaimer , not huge nerd buff or anything , just something that think about while poke around during bosmer playthrough in skyrim . )

on one hand , really like bosmer .
on other , bosmer confuse .
find hard understand why writers believe " harmony with nature " means :

• can not harm or harvest from plants
• ( can still benefit from others who do )
• can harvest things and animals other than plants

rocks , animals , water , all as important to nature as trees and plants - and all also important to trees and plants .
as well , sometimes plants get diseases . without intervention , plant disease can spread and kill more than if simply cut loss and take down that bush , that branch , that tree . plant overgrowth can harm , stifle out other life , stifle out own life . animals act as control for other animals and for plants to prevent this ; if remove only animals but never plants , will lose that balance .

if ask kossai , green pact should not be about never harm or harvest - sometimes , inaction is much more harm .
understand this is fantasy , and bosmer have workarounds through magic and ritual for some problems . but just confuse why writers set up like this - no point in strict policy if that inaction can harm anyway , and certainly reality make clear .
forests beautiful and sacred , and sometimes protect means short term harm .
