kossai | can arts theory hinder ?

sometimes wonder if know arts theory - for any medium - hold some people back . not inherently of course , but ... in people who already very self conscious about things ? all these things that feel like rules , and feel like rules exist for reason ... even if want to break , and indeed even if others do , feel as if just not allow to do same without first earn that right .
and so ... will just not try at all , when all best ideas do break these rules . but problem with that is , not practise then , so can not possibly get better to ever " earn " ...

kossai do not know music theory , and in some ways feel happier with this . just do what feel right , and that is only rule which follow . if did know theory , maybe that would just ... stop and hold back , more than help and inspire .
also not ever in formal visual art classes ... and some things would be really nice to learn , do not get wrong . but also , do not want to feel like suddenly need to very carefully put every tiny little thing in perfect place ...

which , again , not inherently problem of know theory - very much personality influence . theory and formal lessons can help , but can also really daunt and hinder - and sometimes do both at once .
