might wonder if actually get to try solo play yet .

well , still no because in effort to learn , also need to try copy things down and sort of test what understand , because this . is . lots . and can already tell some things which will probably not use very much , like combat details .

will get to play …

There's a saying by the creator of Ironsworn, one of the more-popular solo RPGs out there, that "prep IS play." You're not preparing or brainstorming or creating in preparation for someone else to use it - it's all for you - and as such, any way you engage with the system is a form of play with it. Like putting a toy together before you can actually use its functions, you can either treat it as a task which must be done or a fun little puzzle to complete for entertainment.

It's something I have to remind myself of a lot, because I'm still in the development stage for my own solo stuff - never found a system/setting combo that meets my needs, so I'm putting one together myself. Which can get frustrating if you don't remind yourself that it's all for your own enjoyment, and can be fun if you let it.

honestly , very fair and true ! at this point not just take notes and play around with examples , but really also try to organise in way that make sense in brain , and that means lots of fiddle and fit like puzzle ... and there really is something so fun in read all these possibilities and mechanics , even if have to eventually choose somewhere to start with . :)
