not look for particular neurotype here , just kind of want to gauge if not alone on this .
kossai can get really , really into interests , that should not be much surprise ! can turn into obsessive fixations , want try to connect everything into this fixation because that just feel so good . but eventually will hit wall and lose most of that momentum . might have big dreams about creations , plans for how to play next , and all that , but just out of energy . yet not energy in general , only for subject of fixation .
really that is big part of why try to start and finish as much as possible for tes gala event really early , because this wall usually start to creep up anywhere from 3 to 5 months of sustain fixation . overall still love this subject of fixation in question , not problem of suddenly dislike . but when that momentum is gone , there is nothing can really do - any amount of attempt to do this , finish that , even just to seek out and engage at all , feel like horrible chore .
in this elder scrolls case , that means 2 things : can now barely play daggerfall for half hour before brain is just done , and , know will not get to finish all gala stories . this is why never usually like to be in fandom spaces - will never get to finish everything before suddenly hit wall . that is frustrate enough to deal with from inside brain , let alone when others might have expectations . some engagement might still be there , especially with one or two particular favourite characters , but much more in moderation and tend to rely on what already collect ( blog tags , computer files , etc ) rather than continue to actively engage and seek out more .
also side note : not all interests become major fixation , and not all major fixations come with very much creative output - so can not just attribute to artistic burnout . even after artistic fixations , can still continue to make other things , just not these things .
anyway , there is but one solution for this - time . guess sort of like burnout , but in this one specific area rather than in general . need to put focus on other things , and let that one relax . which is ... mostly fine ? this is how brain work , and not really want to change . like maybe would be more convenient , but eh , experiences sour on that idea . but sometimes just nice to know if others understand , especially when feel kind of embarrass to actually explain .

Date: Jun. 2nd, 2025 04:48 pm (UTC)yeah , gala thing which talk about is 7 day elder scrolls fandom event plan for this month , but announce back in march . know would have to face down this fixation burnout , so get as much as possible done , as soon as possible . otherwise if did not , would not have any fixation energy left later to work on designs and details , despite still well of overall creative energy . stuff is weird sometimes ! ( still so very excite to post everything though . so so so badly want to just post all now :P )
