after many years of journal out dreams , of course see patterns in dream language , and knowledge of those patterns can help to become lucid . unfortunately , can rarely do anything with that lucidity .

exhibit 937 : gain lucidity after realisation that computer continue to fuck up , despite apparently fix problem , which is surefire dream sign - technology never work right , even when there is no reason to not . decide to take advantage of this , and shapeshift dream character into miensona to get new outfit design ideas . unfortunately this character just turn into broken hybrid of original appearance and miensona , then manage to lose lucidity and go right back into normal dream state in completely different scenario .

worst part is , can not even remember what that character look like , either in original or hybrid form . entirely useless for inspiration ! have to wonder why lucidity is so hard to control . non-fronters can literally edit parts or weave entire dreams , but fronter lucidity is absolutely useless .

Lucidity is hard to keep. Usually, I have to create some ritual within the dream in order to properly change things. I can still have great intentionality with my actions, but the ritual puts enough distance to keep myself from waking up. It can take some (in-dream) time to master, but it always seems to work very well for me.

Something like clapping my hands a certain way, randomly listing numbers, or just some other repetitive action with intention. In our last dream, I had to imagine myself pulling and plucking at the "strings of the universe" to manipulate myself. Just pretending I was pulling thread with the intention to change a specific thing.

Yes, I get what you mean! I have been trying to lucid dream for 8 or 9 years now, have done it three times plus many cases of sleep paralysis (that I have learned to manage very well, all things considered!). Every time has never had any intention behind it. It happens when I have stuck to a sleep routine naturally without the intention to be lucid, which is frustrating! But I have decided to focus mostly on healthy, regular sleep and dream tracking without the explicit intention to go lucid. Works for me! I have had to stop existing in lucid dream spaces for my own health, so I am unsure if what I experience is common at all, ha!
