gift indeed ...
Sep. 20th, 2024 12:13 amreceive gift today - paper pad of various faerie artworks . unfortunately know to be suspicious of these things , but well , incredibly hard - and rude - to just reject gift on spot . so kossai take , and now properly examine .
this is egregious .
some faeries in this set visible from back view . despite this , wings appear to be on front of body . other times , wings completely misalign . many generally wrong formations of things such as butterflies or flowers - and yes , some polydactyly .
well , what to do with these now ... dislike use of machine generation to replace artists , but paper is still paper . feel this would be completely wasteful on resources to try and send back to company which is likely to simply toss away - and gift giver is very unlikely to care about concerns of kossai here , which means will not happen anyway .
but what is solution to use these up ...?

Date: Sep. 20th, 2024 10:55 am (UTC)I do really like the idea of turning it into papier maché, I’ve only ever used newsprint for that and I bet nicer paper makes for a nicer experience and end product. I have made a head for a hand puppet out of papier mache before (start with a balloon and pop it after the first layer, minus a gap to reach the balloon and use as the finger hole, is dry), as well as a mask (you can ball up plastic grocery bags or other bits of paper and tape it together into a shape roughly the size of your face to use as a mold!), both of which are things I *think* kossai would enjoy making and having.

Date: Sep. 20th, 2024 06:45 pm (UTC)not black and white , actually - full colour , and thicker than regular paper so not sure about plausibility with paper mache . :(
think most likely will take suggestion to use as base paper for some other artwork . might still have letter stamps somewhere , and if not should be pretty easy to get again . potentially some might also work as butterflies , though not entirely sure how feel about that . would at least be use , though , and not just waste ... will think on that one some more .
