old complaints

still remember things from whole yinglet nonsense …

one of points kossai make ?
people should , at least , not make broad , for-public informational posts with substitution quirks . if really feel that important to absolutely need use , then should at least also post alternate version without that quirk .

and someone try to misrepresent this as demand of write every post twice over , as something mean and unfair .
just ... find that ridiculous . stretch until make something to complain about .
so many people in that whole thing try to come up with ways that everyone else should change , but without seem to recognise situations where those would not work , or would not even be feasible to start with .

for one example : how would screenreader user change pronunciation of yinglet word , if screenreader can not render in way which even resemble original word ? TTS renders of wrongly spell words vary from mild accent to absolute nonsense - know from experience .
and not all screenreader or other TTS software offer ability to change , either - shitty , unfortunate truth .

but at that point people think excuses excuses . say " so easy " to work around , but need to still put effort in so people can use those tools - and still need to understand where certain methods weak or outright fail . not just write off as " cop behaviour " like this is not cruel thing to say .

A single screenreader user piped up that for their software, it’s super easy to just make it pronounce each individual word substitution as the word being substituted. And I’m over here like 1) not everyone uses the same software and 2) oh so now disabled people have to program in every possible ‘th’ a yinglet could swap out so their software reads it as normal? Glad it’s not a big ask for that but Jesus Christ! The entitlement of it all is what really got to me. “My happiness-while-posting matters more, or at least as much as, than your ability to navigate the same happiness-giving website safely and comfortably”
