to be honest , no label bring more comfort than simply truth : faerie , faeries , faerie court . but in practise , this is not enough to find community .

nonhuman and physical nonhuman work well enough to describe relationship , and so those come up with some frequency . kossai is faeries , faerie court , and so nonhuman .
likewise , faeriehood is in everything : mind , spirit , and body - so physical nonhuman also help to explain .

back and forth on whether to really describe as holothere - this is religious in origin for kossai , and holothere label is not exclusive to delusion or psychology . but feel like something about holothere is not quite right for purposes ? not to say bad , just happen to be very picky with which words to use . still , can be very useful for community reach , to know people will understand without as much need for explain .

otherkin , is just not really accurate . not human , and feel otherkin means human in some way . useful for community reach as one of most known words , but would never describe selves as faerie kin to explain for someone .

alterhuman is similar . understand what this one means - alterhuman is umbrella which technically belong to , and also wide outreach - but do not find comfort as descriptor .
will join in discussions where others start off " hey alterhumans , " but unlikely to describe selves this way unless must clarify and point someone to resources .

human is wrong . but , person and people is wonderful . others try very hard to justify why kossai do not deserve rights and treatment of fellow person , so , will fight tooth and nail for this one .

words like beast and entity discomfort for this reason . while part of collective " body OS " eira is animal , usually not talk much about online , for various reasons - and even then , faerie animals come with typical faerie sapience .
this means just faerie is still perfect descriptor . creature can be some comfort in these animal shifts , but again , still just prefer faerie .

with plurality , then , kossai describe selves as faerie court . plural is good and comfortable . when this is not descriptive enough , prefer collective over system .
usually prefer plural language when possible , but some things can be awkward to adapt - especially in kossai struggle with language .
( very quick tip for this : if in any other case would say -self , then for kossai , say -selves . )

overall , just simplest words work for kossai . true in use others for outreach , or if need for explain , but faerie will always be best bet and most comfort .

labels always give trouble . so many out there , but not always really seem to explain what need explain .

kossai really do reject idea that this body is or ever even was human .
in childhood , even , did not accept idea that could be human . would surround in faerie stories , go out in little kid size fairy wings , would write about what feel like to fly . have many innate faerie feelings , knowledges , and experiences .
and even at young age was undeniably plural , undeniably faeries and faerie court , even if much much much smaller back then . eira hold together and give unity , give semblance of " one " that others could believe - but always know was just , not . not one , and certainly not human one .

people try to push and force that away , of course . and really did try for some time to keep up with that , for safety . so many cruelties and threats … did not need to awaken so much as need to feel safe enough to embrace and learn to open up depths again - which still have damage to undo even now .

explore through communities and labels those people use . but ... really , hard to find something that make sense .
some have ties to reincarnation , but that is not accurate here . same thing go for terms which relate to faerie soul inside explicitly human body ... and even terms which have some more leeway do not really give enough room , because people still often have at least one of those perceptions . holothere is not bad to explain physicality , but then come down to another problem ...

there is also this sort of , faerie rejection of labels in general . like sure , sometimes have to use labels to then find community , to talk about things with more clarity , but ... not really weigh that much on how feel . not feel as if word describe and make world less lonely so much as wonder if this will be useful pointer for others to understand .

in end not really would say kossai is faerie kin or faeborn or other such words . sometimes people expect to see these words , and useful when look for communities most likely to understand , but actual identity ... do not feel need to get any more specific than " faerie , yes , in every way . "
yet without specifics , people start to assume relations and assume how to address . many times people address kossai as if faerie in some other life who is stuck as human sadly reminisce , and not faerie court here and now , that always was and always will be . bah !

have some thoughts on how some try to replace words like people with vaguer being , which ... honestly that just make dysphoric . is there point in change of words if new words still hurt some people as much as old ones did , just different group this time ?

also can see trouble in very hypothetical future of legal language change to reflect . what separate nonhuman being from random street animal ? is there now new expectation to hold wild animals to same standards , to trial carnivores for kill and eat as carnivores do ? where do plants come in ? parasites ?
if not , then what word is there to separate ? is that not just original problem again ?

person can be very human relative word , but not need to mean human exactly . as kossai see , more relate to ability of equally communicate , share ideas and cultures in some way .
if able to use internet for one example , do have those abilities relative to humans . that would make , among ideal human society , some kind of person .

likewise , if other animals hypothetically define person , would probably also do so relative to species . what would dogs define as person ? what about opossums , or voles , or turkeys ?
and again , to " include " more with supposedly neutral beings , hurt nonhumans that might consider selves as people relative to humans , just not human ones . this can include faeries , mermaids , dragons , ghosts , werewolves , vampires , and quite literally anyone else who still prefer person .

kossai work hard to be here . to dance around words like people only hurt and make angry , because worst of humans do that too . so even when mean well to be inclusive for others , yes , blanket word of being rather than people just hurt . and kossai absolutely not alone in this .
consider as comparison , impact of refer to individual man or woman as person ( in context of gender ) , rather than as man or woman . might feel better and more inclusive to not care , but to inside feel as if take away identity instead - especially if trans and/or intersex and already fight day to day for people to see as truly fit .

no matter how much words like person can make dysphoria for some , there is also no universal alternative , as those can and do hurt others - and possibly in greater numbers .

some people find important to have words which exactly describe all aspects of alterhuman and nonhuman identity clearly : " this one is very close kintype , this one is chosen link , this one is not fully kin but also not not kin ...? "

if this struggle take hold on mind , want to remind of something : words exist to describe experiences , not experiences exist to fill words .
in other words , if words do not fit right now , have freedom to say so , to not use specific words at all . if words might never fit , have freedom to abandon words and just be .

do not need figure out and prove exactly why and how each piece is important , where all come from , when and why start ... still can of course , but this is not pressure , not something that need do in order to have " valid " card .
if anyone do look down for not fully understand and have neat little names to describe what each part is , well , tell that person to piss off !

kossai is all faeries ... and many here have ties with aspects of nature . this is not something that try to describe with words like kin or heart type ... this is not connection that really have one single word . but also , not really need one - these connections can , do , and will exist regardless of put in word for others to understand .

and , really not need figure out if connection come from psychology , spirituality , both , or otherwise . free to explore what each possibility would mean , but again not require to know exactly .
might feel sure on something for years , and then something throw spanner in works and confuse everything . this is not sign that identity somehow fake or unimportant - yes , even if this piece do leave identity altogether . was still important at one point , and can honour that while grow through this journey of life .

just - do what feel need do . if want arrange pieces by intensity , then can . if want figure out exact incidents that possibly start , then can . if want neatly organise and figure out where in mind and spirit each come from , then can .
but none is absolute need , that have to do or else alterhuman police will hunt down .
and even if do some or all of these , not need make that journey public if do not want to ! can figure out and then keep secret if prefer that way .

identity is game of sorts , all these pieces that can play and knock around , fall in and fall out of ring . OK to just sit back and enjoy game , without worry about best strategy . :)
